ABOUT CECI CÓRDOVA

I am a traditional healer, a midwife, and a family nurse practitioner. I am also a listener, a mother, a story teller, an artist. I practice Traditional and Integrative Health Care and guide people to find their healing and their own medicine through listening, story telling, bodywork, and art. All of these qualities and skills contribute to my work as a healer and care provider. Through these different ways at Integrated Pregnancy and Postpartum Care (IPPC), I support you in your growth as a new mother, a new birthing person, and as a new person with new understanding of yourself. How do you integrate all the familiar with all the new and unfamiliar? At IPPC we make use of craniosacral therapy and Ancestral Hands on Healing, as well as somatoemotional release, Ancestral Abdominal Massage Therapy, pelvic floor work, adrenal and immune support.

My own frustration as a nurse and nurse midwife has been the neglect of the spirit by the “Powers that be”: the insurance companies, the hospitals, the allopathic medical system, society in general. My passion has been to incorporate and integrate all aspects of our beings with all possible aspects of care. Without recognition of the spiritual, even the attention to the physical is incomplete. This desire for integrated health care is what led me to develop Full Moon Midwifery, Sacred Good Medicine, and, now, Integrated Pregnancy and PostPartum Care.

In Integrated Pregnancy and PostPartum Care and Full Moon Midwifery, I work to bring together all aspects of ourselves with all possible aspects of health care. Just herbalism or just allopathic medicine alone or only accupuncture or prayer alone, cannot do everything. We are in a time and place in which we have access to so many different healing modalities, if only they could learn to work together. At Integrated Pregnancy and PostPartum Care and Sacred Good Medicine, we work with an understanding of and respect for all the possibilities and the fact that we don’t yet know of ALL the possibilities. But we are always ready to learn.

I have learned a lot from each of these teachings but am not constrained by any of them, as I combine, mix and match, invent, and am inspired to treatments based on intuition and what you need, rather than on a protocol written by someone who has never met you.

I don’t agree with the term “alternative Health care” because that presumes a dominant default health care, and while it is somewhat true in our current society, it is not true for me or for many people. Many people struggle to find compatible health care within the western conventional framework. It is not easy to find, if you recognize yourself as an autonomous and creative individual. That said, my work benefits from a strong understanding of contemporary western allopathic medicine because that is where my certification in nurse midwifery and family nurse practice comes from. It is beautifully tempered by my strong belief system and personal philosophy and my immersion in curanderismo, spiritual midwifery, craniosacral therapy, and Ancestral Hands on Healing and their manifestation through me.

The most enduring and important components of my care for you are curanderismo, craniosacral therapy, and Ancestral Hands on Healing. I am grateful for my varied experience, licensure, trainings, and skills, allowing me the luxury of providing hands on healing, listening to your story, assisting with spiritual guidance, and even writing a pharmaceutical prescription if necessary. My clinical experience allows me to connect the dots to understand what are the root causes of most situations and how best to address them.
